The April issue of our North American edition is out now and it features an exclusive article written for Thinking Highways by US Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx. Using his Beyond Traffic white paper as a base, Sec Foxx looks at the role that ITS has to play not just in the future of America’s transportation network, but in the future of America itself. It’s powerful stuff and quite simply one of the best-written articles we’ve ever run, in this, the first edition of our 10th volume.
However, Sec Foxx’s article is just one of an array of thought-provoking pieces in this issue, the printed version of which will be available on our booth, 331, at the ITS America Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh, PA in just four weeks time.
David Pickeral wonders if we are doing a little too much thinking outside the box, while Gordon Feller explains what, in reference to the Internet of Everything, everything is. Steve Morello assesses the benefits of interjurisdictional RUC, we hear about the winner of Siemens’ Mobility Idea contents and we have a further two articles looking at the controversial subject of P3s. We are also pleased to welcome Tim McGuckin to our pantheon of insightful columnists.
