The fleet telematics sector is reaching maturation in terms of age but in terms of penetration there remains an impressive opportunity for growth on the horizon.
With 9 million units set to be in use across the US by 2015 the number of OEMs offering embedded connectivity is rising. At the same time OEMs are looking to standardize vehicle data and develop partnerships with the telematics community to deliver services including driver behaviour monitoring and predictive maintenance.
To address their opportunities Telematics Update brought together executives from Volvo Trucks, Daimler Trucks, GM and Telogis to share their vision on how the automakers can work with standardized platforms and telematics services providers to enhance fleet optimization and drive new growth in connected fleets.
