At the Asian Utility Week conference yesterday, Silver Spring Networks announced an expanded relationship with EDMI Ltd., a global smart meter solution provider, to offer smart city and smart energy solutions in several new regions.
Following the successful first phase of deployment with the Singapore Power Group, Silver Spring and EDMI will offer their integrated solutions in Australia and New Zealand, Europe and Southeast Asia. Through the expanded relationship, Silver Spring will also leverage EDMI devices as control nodes to help manage and monitor intelligent street lights as part of the Silver Spring Smart City Solution.
“Asia is home to some of the most rapidly growing cities on earth and, along with this growth, we are seeing unprecedented demand for infrastructure modernisation in new regions, and for new smart energy and smart city applications,” said Eric Dresselhuys, Executive Vice President of Global Development and Sales, Silver Spring Networks. “EDMI is an industry leader in Asia, Australia and New Zealand, and Europe, and we’re delighted to expand our partnership to ensure we are offering more choice to our smart city and smart grid customers across the globe.
“Silver Spring is widely recognised as a market leader and, in partnership with EDMI in Singapore, has successfully begun delivering one of the region’s most sophisticated energy network modernisation projects,” said KM Lee, Group Managing Director, EDMI. “Building on that success, we are proud to extend our partnership with Silver Spring to meet the growing demands in Asia, Australia and New Zealand, and Europe. Silver Spring’s open, IPv6 platform is proven worldwide and we are excited to jointly deliver new innovations to a wider customer base.”
