Sensing A Revolution: Heba Bevan, CEO, Utterberry

July 16, 2018

Utterberry CEO Heba Bevan talks to Thinking Cities’ Editor in Chief Kevin Borras about her company’s revolutionary remote, wirelesss, low-power, smart sensor system for smart cities; artificial intelligence; smart buildings; the rise of UK tech start-ups; smart hospitals; crowd-sensing and changing the landscape of wireless IoT sensor daisy-chaining. The multi-award winning engineer and entrepreneur fashioned the idea that would eventually become Utterberry while studying for her PhD in low power wireless sensor networks for subterranean mass-rapid transportation applications at Jesus College, Cambridge and set the company up only five years ago.

Utterberry’s miniature sensors are now being deployed to revolutionise projects such as London’s Crossrail and in 2016 the company formed part of a UK-China TechHub delegation organised by the Department for International Trade.
